Sachiin Joshi goes Aamir Khan way

Gone are the days when Shah Rukh Khan would sport the same look, irrespective of whether he was playing the romantic Raj in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge or the depressed Devdas.
Experimenting with looks is the in-thing and Bollywood actors have begun going to great lengths to get the skin of their characters. Salman Khan toned his body further and added a moustache for 'Dabangg'. Akshay Kumar will follow suit playing a policeman in 'Rowdy Rathore'. Aamir Khan actually grew a moustache to fit into the cop's role in 'Talaash'. And as if these are not enough, Bollywood has a new chameleon now.
Sachiin Joshi, whose debut film 'Aazaan' stunned the industry with its amazing action and production values last year and even bagged a Stardust Award for it, is pulling all stops to play a quirky cop in his next film 'Mumbai Mirror'.
To begin with, just like Aamir, the actor is growing a stylish moustache for it, instead of going for a fake one. "Having the perfect look goes a long way in making the character look authentic. Its amazing, the way Aamir manages to change his look to suit his character in almost every movie he does," remarks Sachiin.
But the newbie is not just stopping at a facial change! Just as Aamir did for his other film 'Ghajini', Sachiin is undergoing rigorous physical training, with his trainer having put him on a strict diet regimen too. Having lost a lot of kilos and toned up his body, the 'Aazaan' star aspires to look every bit of the tough but whimsical cop he portrays in 'Mumbai Mirror'.
Directed by Ankush Bhatt, of 'Bhindi Bazaar Inc.' fame, the movie mirrors the Mumbai underbelly and revolves around the nexus between powerful corrupt dance bar lords and the Mumbai Police.

Sachiin Joshi - The Heir to the King?

People tell you that when you dream, dream big. No point settling on something small when you can conquer the world. Sachiin Joshi takes this to heart. He was passionate about acting and always dreamed of making it big in Bollywood. So who was his idol along the way? Well go re-read the title of this piece and you'll have your answer in a jiffy. Yes. It was Shahrukh Khan, the Badshaah of Bollywood himself. From Deewana to Don 2, Sachiin has followed Shahrukh very closely and is intent on learning as much as possible from the man himself. "Shahrukh Khan was the first 'larger than life' Bollywood superstar. He set the trend for celebrities and has a fan following that can be matched by very few. Each film of his sees him evolve as an actor. But most importantly he has always had that trait of humility ingrained in him," says Sachiin.
High praise for a man who has achieved enough to know what he is talking about. "I've watched all films of Shahrukh and been fortunate enough to spend time with him and know him as a person. He supported me when I debuted in Bollywood in Aazaan and he's always been great," further adds Sachiin.

Sachiin dreams of making it big and one day matching up to the level that SRK has managed to reach. No easy feat and Sachiin knows how difficult a challenge that is. "Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be Shahrukh Khan. I want to carve my own image in Bollywood. But if there was a benchmark, it would be him." Sachiin Joshi always picks his words with care. Only time will reveal the legacy, he leaves behind in B-Town.

Priyamani-Sachiin follow SRK-Shirish into controversy!

The media seems to be so obsessed with the Shah Rukh Khan-Shirish Kunder episode that it is fishing for similar stories to report, even if it amounts to imagining some! One such incident a prominent publication in Hyderabad has reported is about Aazaan actor SachiinJoshi teasing Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) brand ambassador and Southern actress Priyamani in a Shirish Kunder-like "allegedly inebriated" state at a party. Luckily for Sachiin, the article doesn't conjure up a 'slap'.
Sachiin who plays cricket for Sohail Khan's Mumbai Heroes has been globe-trotting from Australia to Maldives to States to Dubai off late. But the Hyderabad publication 'insists' he tried to "hold her hand" and "hug" Priyamani, rubbing the damsel's "ego" the wrong way at a CCL after-party. The funny part is that the said article claims this inspite of quoting Priyamani's mother in the same piece, stating that the actress was "busy shooting" and that "nothing like this has happened."
Sachiin's publicist Dale Bhagwagar also points out that the report is a figment of over-active imagination. "It's a fabricated story. Someone is trying to use the media as a platform for personal gain or vendetta, trying to plug and plant false and fictional information in the form of a news story. The media should be wary of such people trying to cause malice by manipulating a journalist," he says.
Last week, a Mumbai tabloid had also funnily reported that Sachiin Joshi was found strolling in "pink chaddis" at a Dubai hotel where CCL players were put up. "They were red chaddis and not pink and Sachiin was wearing them above his blue tights," his publicist had joked then, comparing the young gun to a superhero; very much like the character he played in Aazaan.
ow, now! With this new Priyamani 'story', things are surely hotting up on the Sachiin front! Wonder if the writer should be 'crowned' the 'king' of sham! Shah Rukh-Shirish not withstanding, this even seems to be a perfect case for the Press Council chief Markandey Katju to comment on, before Sachiin Joshi emerges the new 'Controversy Prince' of Bollywood and cricketainment.

Sachiin Joshi - The Con Man?

Well the title shouldn’t put wrong thoughts into your head. Sachiin Joshi is as honest as humble as they get. So it is quite ironic, that the Aazaan star is set to take up the role of a con man in his next Bollywood venture. Soham Shah of ‘Kaal’ and ‘Luck’ fame will direct the film. “Versatility is the hall mark of every good actor. I’ve already played a RAW agent in Aazaan and I’m looking to test myself with a different role,” says Sachiin. The film will be titled ‘I Am Charles’ and will be shot in three different countries. For a man who loves traveling, this is right down Sachiin’s alley. It is the journey of a 15-year-old boy to a 50-year-old middle-aged man who is wanted by all the international government agencies. Sachiin is set to romance sixteen women in this one, nine of them from Bollywood. That does make Priyanka Chopra’s previous feats look quite normal. From saving the world to setting new Bollywood records, Sachiin Joshi is right up there making a mark.

Sachiin’s Next Step

It’s been a while since the Aazaan mania has died down and now Sachiin Joshi is looking forward to his next Bollywood venture.  His next role sees him play a cop and the plot revolves around the sensitive topic of dance bars. The female lead will be played by the sexy Mallika Sherawat who is known for shaking those enviable hips to some enticing dance numbers. Ankush Bhatt who has already dealt with topics such as the police and the underworld in his previous film – Bhindi Bazaar, will direct the film. Some of the biggest names in B-Town have recently donned the khaki vardi in films. Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn both played policemen in Dabangg and Singham respectively. The interesting bit in this one however, is that Sachiin’s character in the film is yet to be revealed. This means that he can have a negative or a positive role. So we’ll have to wait and see whether Sachiin gets rid of the bad guys pulling similar superhuman maneuvers like Chulbul Pandey and Baji Rao Singham. The film goes on the floors in March and Sachiin is really excited as he looks to cement his place as a superstar in Desi Tinsel Town.

Sachiin's Secret is Out in the Open!

Chetan Bhagat once wrote about a phone call from God which went onto change the lives of a group of middle aged people. Well we are about to tell you a tale, not so far fetched yet equally important for the Mumbai Heroes. Sachiin Joshi received a phone call on the eve of Mumbai's game against the Chennai Rhinos from a very a famous personality. A recognizable voice. Well before you think much further, we'll reveal that it wasn't God. It was Salman Khan! A few morale boosting words which left Sachiin's confidence at a dizzying peak. An accomplished performance by Sachiin which was instrumental in the victory of  Mumbai Heroes over the defending champions and banish the demons of the previous CCL. People might perceive Sachiin as a lucky mascot but his teammates reveal that his energetic personality has been a great addition to the squad. Sachiin Joshi - Playing the perfectionist

Sachiin Joshi’s zest for life comes from a simple philosophy - Whatever you do, put everything into it. Otherwise, don't do it at all. Since a young age, Sachiin has always made sure he doesn't waste the opportunities that have come his way. From running a huge corporation to traveling the globe to venturing into new business fields like energy drinks and entertainment. Whatever Sachiin Joshi puts his mind to, you can be sure it has his complete attention. A small example of his dedication is when he started training for his movie Aazaan. He mastered the south Indian martial art of Kalaripayattu which helped keep him in shape for his stunts. "People always ask me, how i manage to give all our business ventures, equal attention. The truth is to make sure that each field has my undivided attention at important stages. Life is a marathon and not a sprint. You have to pace yourself out to make sure you don't lose out at any stage," says Sachiin. Valuable words of advice from a man who knows how it's done. His conquests are symbolic of that.

Sachiin Joshi driven by his passion for cars.

If last year's event represented the perfect setting for every automobile enthusiast, this year promises to be bigger. The Parx Super Car Show is back and Sachiin Joshi is all set to attend being a huge car buff. The show is reflective of the passion for premium niche cars by members of the Super Car Club of India. Only the aristocrats can afford such beauties, which are valued in crores. These fast, powerful cars are all about pushing the action junkie in you to the next level and hence it’s not hard to see why it’s his passion. This year, everyone is looking forward to see which cars from Sachiin’s personal collection will be gracing the show. Last year we saw a Bentley Continental GT 610 PS speed car (HR-16-H-0070), a Mercedes Benz - New CL 500 (2 Door Auto RHD) (HR-16-G-7003) and a Lamborghini Gallardo - Coupe FLMY09 (DL-3C-BM-5595). The event is being sponsored by Sachiins’s good friend and fellow car enthusiast Gautam Singhania who wowed everyone last year with his own enviable car collection. Sachiin Joshi was at his flamboyant best last time out and is set to go one better this time. Quite a few big names are expected to be attend this time out. The show is set to be held later this month. Sachiin himself is a huge car junkie and views the event as a chance to keep up with the fast changing trends in the automobile world. So stay tuned for more information, because this is one event you do not want to miss.

Sachiin Joshi photoshoot in the exotic Maldives

Sachiin Joshi has had quite a challenging year working on Aazaan.  Every newcomer has nerves as he steps in front of a camera for the first time in Bollywood. And Sachiin was no different. But working with seasoned professionals and a model who has spent more than her fair share of time in front of the lens does help. So while Sachiin was initially apprehensive of this photo shoot on the beautiful island of Maldives, he gradually took up to the idea. The shoot was overlooked by ace photographer Harpreet Bachher. When younger, Sachiin was a part of some FTII projects in Pune which got him to take a keen interest in films. But there is huge difference between small scale projects and stepping up to the big screen. The photo shoot in the Maldives was held while he was shooting for Aazaan. The shoot went of brilliantly and Sachiin came off looking like an absolute natural in front of the camera. Harpreet has conducted photo shoots for many famous models and he himself admitted that Sachiin was calm and flawless in front of the lens. From his side, Sachiin enjoyed the shoot and even had the time to explore the lovely island. A nice break for the star considering his demanding schedule.

Sachiin Joshi - Piyo Life, Jiyo Life!

A simple message from Sachiin Joshi himself. Exemplified in a product that is used by everyone. Sachiin's decision to launch 'Life' was based on a simple idea - Provide what people need. Fresh water resources world over are being exhausted and considering India's growing population, drinking water is looked upon as precious commodity. Hence, launching competitively priced packaged drinking water was sensible to say the least. The tag line is representative of the idea - "Piyo Life, Jiyo life.”  Life was launched in Mumbai and other parts of the country a while back.  It has a clean taste which is manufactured using a special multistage purification process. JMJ Life is the clear choice for high quality and safe drinking, as it offers both the convenience of home and office delivery, and is also easily found on store shelves. Another Sachiin Joshi creation that is sure to go a long way.

Sachiin's Bollywood Curiosity

SachiinJoshi has always been termed a visionary. His achievements with JMJ notwithstanding, his overall perception of life means that the term is quite apt for this man. Sachiin has never shied away from his responsibility, but it's his passion for films that ended up governing his plunge into Bollywood. What propelled this talented young man to the performing arts, dates back to childhood. Raised as a kid in  the neighborhood of FTII-Pune, his growing up was interspersed with student film makers and their projects which would later play a pivotal role in shaping his own dreams. His desire to learn and understand cinema meant that he also took a film-making course in the United Kingdom to fine tune his impressive instincts in the hope of making a mark in the Indian Film Industry with time. Sachiin Joshi already had three Telugu films under his belt in the run up to Aazaan.  His choice of debuting as an electrifying hero in the action thriller was questioned by many, but Sachiin believed that action would appeal on a universal level, unlike any other genre. Aazaan gave us a glimpse of what Sachiin Joshi is capable of. No doubt, there is a lot more to come.

Sachiin Joshi - The Fitness Freak With An Imagination

Sachiin Joshi has always been looked upon as the man who loves dominating boardrooms. Considering everything he has achieved since joining JMJ, that perception isn't far off the mark. But what people don't know is that Sachiin is quite the fitness freak. In between board meetings, product launches and taking big decisions for JMJ, Sachiin sticks to a rigorous workout which keeps him fit and looking as good as ever. In preparation for his Bollywood debut with Aazaan, that workout was changed to something that was even more demanding. After all, when your saving the world, you have to be firing on all cylinders. He has a highly sophisticated 24-hour health studio, One Fitness Hub & Spa which offers a 360 degree fitness solution. It has a plush Fitness Lounge and a lavish Spa and Salon, spread across 9000 sq. ft. The international high quality fitness equipment ensures that customers get the best. After all, Sachiin only believes in delivering the best. He has always taken those aspects of life, he is genuinely passionate about and turned them into business opportunities which would in turn be beneficial for JMJ. Sachiin Joshi - Amalgamating His Passion And Entrepreneurial Skills

It wouldn't be an exaggeration on any level to say that being an entrepreneur is in Sachiin Joshi's blood. His father only knew one way in the business world and that way was forward. There was no better learning place for Sachiin than at home. After a steep learning curve that took him from India to England, he is now taking JMJ exactly where he wants it to be. His earliest brainchild was the XXX Energy drink. XXX stands for Xperience Xtreme Xcitement, symbolic of what Sachiin wanted to introduce into the untapped Indian energy drink market. Sachiin himself is an avid sports enthusiast and has strived to support all kinds of sports activities and health/fitness initiatives across India. The energy drink represented something he is passionate about and also presented itself as a smart business opportunity. The drink has been renamed as SJ XXX after Sachiin himself and was the principal sponsor for Shahrukh Khan’s KKR team in the T20 IPL tournament in 2011. The drink was also the title sponsor for the Indian Boxing Federation and Chiranjeevi's Chiru Cheetah's in the Tollywood T20 Trophy. The 'XXX venture' best epitomizes Sachiin's astute acumen, amalgamating his passion towards good health and fitness with well founded business interests.

Sachiin Joshi - The New Year brings New challenges.

2011 has been quite a year for Sachiin Joshi, from dominating the board rooms to debuting in Bollywood. The entrepreneur and the passionate actor within him have battled  various challenges the year brought with it. The year was dominated by Aazaan. From training to shoots to conferences to events. In the midst of all that, Sachiin found the time to take Aazaan to Cannes and charm the international audience. And then his Bollywood bow. A performance well received in an action packed thriller that wowed audiences and left the critics with something worthwhile to write about. On the entrepreneurial front, he continued to take JMJ forward. Realty projects in different cities means that the JMJ is building a sound foundation in the construction industry. Headway has even been made in the tourism and hotel businesses. SJ XXX, the energy drink launched by Shahrukh Khan and brought to the market by Sachiin has also been well accepted. So as he allows himself a breather, enjoying a beautiful view of Dubai from his villa at the Palm Jumeirah, we ask him what his plans are for the New Year. "I'll be bringing in the New Year in Dubai. And i must say I'm excited by the challenges that lie ahead," says Mr. Joshi. Why shouldn't he be? He's left a mark in every sector he's decided to set foot in. Whatever 2012 has in store, he's certainly up for it.
